A one-day workshop with Pernilla Siebenfreund
Brisbane: Sun 26 Oct, 9:30 am—5:30 am
“When you can spontaneously and by your presence alone, make somebody else feel worthy and welcome, then you have achieved the personhood of a therapist.”
– Ron Kurtz (the founder of Hakomi)
How can we create an interpersonal environment to support others in feeling worthy and welcome?
What is our contribution to people who are trapped in shame, fear, isolation and unworthiness?
In Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, the practitioner focuses on building safety by paying attention to their own present moment experience, as well as the client’s and by responding to the client’s emotional, mental or physical state with compassion and sensitivity.
This felt sense attunement in the client supports co-regulation and mindfulness, which reduces shame, allows emotional material to surface, enhances self-awareness, as well as the potential to open the door to implicit memory and unconscious limiting beliefs.
These deeply held unconscious and limiting beliefs can then be explored in the present moment due to the felt relational safety experienced by the mindful client, and further allows for gentle organic and lasting change.
In this workshop we will practice being mindful and attuned with ourselves and another, as well as exploring what may interrupt this state, and how we can return.
You will also:
- Be introduced to the 5 principles of Hakomi

- Witness a live Hakomi session
